In spring of 2021, I would double down on work in video editing, primarily specializing in stream highlights for gaming channels on Twitch and YouTube. I primarily acted as a "ghost" editor, who would be charge a rate per hour of footage which I would trim down and edit to try and create compelling, engaging, or otherwise entertaining content. For the most part, I would not be directly credited or affiliated with my work.
Linked below is my portfolio playlist of public videos that I have worked on, including my own personal project, LegendDari, which covers topics of internet culture, video gaming, and anything else on my mind.
In late 2021, I would move from working for others and begin to plan out my own video essays and digital video pieces under the name of LegendDari. I attempted to carefully conceive of a cohesive and unified, minimalistic branding that would span across the entire experience of the channel.
It took a while to get things finally rolling, because I try to be fairly detailed in the planning and research that goes into creating my videos. While I try to remain vigilant and professional in the creation process, I also try to imbue a more casual, anecdotal, or conversational tone in my works. I don't necessarily want to rub off as an absolute authority, but I also do not want to be poorly prepared or misinformed in the case that a video takes off.
As it currently stands, my most popular video has amassed over 40K views within the span of a week. Relatively little in the grand scheme of things, but also a considerable amount for a 'nobody' channel that hardly even existed previously.
I started with a palette that would be a recurring set of core colors that would appear several times in my branding.

To add a personal touch to a more minimalistic style, which is often criticized for 'lacking soul', I would fill the outro and banner to my content with personal written pieces I wrote, highlighting a general quote that was an attempt to make people think about what it could mean.

Lastly, I would go down the route of creating a subtly used 'mascot' character. The color palette is re-used here to keep the ties between my work and the character strong. While they may be the face of some of the branding, they're not the focal point of my works for the most part, and so I don't show very much of them. I prefer the sort of mystique of the character hardly ever being shown in full. By also failing to give enough contextual clues in the image, it also appears fairly abstract to those who are unaware of this character and their design, and so the image almost could be an abstract piece just as well as it could be the face of a character.
